Different Flower Arrangement

I found these cool vintage gold tone flower earrings at a tag sale. I love the size and the fact the flowers have a bamboo texture to them.

I decided to go with two very different arrangements for them and I love both looks.

The first is a more fun and funky blue apatite.
It's a great color and looks fantastic with the gold accent.

The stones are top drilled and cut in all different sizes and shapes.

It has a really organic feel to it because they kind of flip and flop around.  It's finished with gold vermeil "s" hook clasp.

The other flower adorns two strands of golden pearls.

The pearls also have an irregular texture to them but this necklace has a more refined feel.

It is also finished with a gold vermeil "s" hook clasp.

So, how are you feeling today? --- fun & funky OR organically elegant?......

Both of these designs are available for sale on my website.

Her many lives

I found this unusual cameo at an estate sale this summer. I've never seen a cameo in this color and the size was really unusual.  Right after I bought it I was flipping through an interior decorating magazine. There was a photo of a bunch of the cameos/intaglios framed. They referred to them as 18th century wax seals.  Recently My Notting Hill did a post about them

I'm guessing that at some point someone set this particular cameo in the pronged rhinestone pin back so that it could be worn.  I thought it was beautiful as is, but I don't know anyone that wears pins.

I thought it would make an amazing one-of-a-kind cuff bracelet. And I had one just the right size that I found this summer at the flea market.

So here she is ready for her next life.

Details: cuff is made of base metal and some of the rhinestones have been replaced

New Vintage

I'm calling my designs where I incorporate an old piece with new stones and findings my "new vintage" line. This one is really two or three necklaces in one.

The green and gold combination is so rich and perfect for this time of year.

The accent piece is a vintage shoe clip that can very easily be removed or relocated so that it hangs in the front or on either side.

Take it off altogether and you have a beautiful multi-strand pearl necklace that will never go out of style.

I found the shoe clip in a shop last week. I was so inspired by it that I went straight home and started working on the necklace.

I've never used a shoe clip before, so I thought I better take the necklace out for a test drive.  I'm not exaggerating when I say that women were complimenting me on my necklace before I even got into their store.  Believe me, this is an attention grabber!

I'll be adding it to my website  in the next few days. If you're interested in making it your own, e-mail me at julielorusso@gmail.com
